Privacy Policy for Grainfall: Sand Sort Puzzle

Last updated: 19 August 2026

Grainfall ("the game", "the app") is developed and published by Angels Bite ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the game collects, why, and what you can do about it. It covers the Android app distributed on Google Play under the package name com.angelsbite.grainfall.

We do not ask you to create an account, and we never ask for your name, email address, phone number, or postal address.

The short version

What the game collects, and why

Game progress

Which levels you have completed, your fewest-moves score for each, and whether you own the ad-free unlock.

This is written to your device. If you are signed in to Google Play Games, the same information is stored as a Play Games saved game under your Google account, so that reinstalling the game or moving to a new device keeps your progress. It contains no personal information beyond the progress itself.

Legal basis (EEA/UK): performance of a contract — providing the game you installed.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

From the second episode onward, a full-screen ad may appear after every second level you finish. To serve those ads, Google's Mobile Ads SDK collects your device's advertising identifier, IP address, device and OS information, and interactions with the ads shown.

We do not receive or store this data ourselves. It is collected and processed by Google as an independent controller under Google's Privacy Policy and the Google Ads data disclosure.

If you purchase the ad-free unlock, this SDK is not initialised. No advertising identifier is read and no ad requests are made.

Legal basis (EEA/UK): consent, collected through Google's User Messaging Platform consent form where required.

Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase)

Anonymous, aggregated usage: app opens, session length, screens viewed, and a randomly generated app instance identifier. It is not linked to your name and we do not use it to identify you. It tells us things like which episode players stop at.

Legal basis (EEA/UK): legitimate interest in understanding and improving the game.

Crash diagnostics (Firebase Crashlytics)

When the game crashes, a report is sent containing the stack trace, device model, operating system version, and the state of the app at the moment it failed. This is what lets us fix bugs we cannot reproduce.

Legal basis (EEA/UK): legitimate interest in maintaining a working product.

Purchases (Google Play Billing)

Grainfall offers one optional purchase: Ad-Free Forever, a single payment that permanently removes ads.

The transaction is handled entirely by Google Play. We never see your payment card, billing address, or any financial details. Google tells the app only whether the unlock has been purchased, and the game stores that as a single true/false value alongside your progress.

Legal basis (EEA/UK): performance of a contract.

Your choices

Reset or opt out of ad personalisation. On your device: Settings → Google → Ads. You can reset your advertising ID or turn off ad personalisation there. On Android 12 and later you can delete the advertising ID entirely.

Stop the saved-game sync. Sign out of Google Play Games, or revoke the game's access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Your progress then stays on your device only.

Remove everything held on your device. Uninstalling the game deletes your local progress.

Delete your cloud save. Play Games saved games can be deleted from the Play Games app, under your profile → Settings → Delete Play Games account & data, which removes saved games for games you have played.

EEA/UK and California residents. You have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to withdraw consent for advertising at any time. Because we hold no account for you, most of these are exercised directly through the Google controls above. For anything else, contact us and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

Grainfall is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Data retention

Progress stored on your device remains until you uninstall the game or clear its data. Cloud saves remain in your Google account until you delete them. Analytics and crash data are retained according to Google's Firebase retention settings, which we set to the shortest period Firebase offers for user-level data.

Security

Data in transit between the game and Google's services is encrypted with TLS. Purchases are processed entirely by Google Play; no payment details ever reach the app or our systems.

Changes to this policy

If we change what the game collects, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes on Google Play.
